100 Year Builder: Why Robuck Homes is a North Carolina builder people trust

Feb 25, 2025

For almost 100 years, Robuck Homes has been building dream homes for people across the Triangle and coastal North Carolina areas. As a family-owned and operated business, we’ve built a legacy on this history, where our focus has always been on excellence in homebuilding. Across the generations, we’ve always believed in delivering outstanding customer service, consistent quality and innovation, and the highest value home possible. We’re proud to be a North Carolina builder our homeowners trust.

If you’re wondering how we’ve built our reputation, here’s what you should know about The Robuck Way, and everything we do to ensure our homes stand the test of time.

We provide local expertise

As a locally owned business, we are a North Carolina builder with experience in the area we know best. We know the Triangle and coastal areas because that’s where we’ve been building for generations. That means when you buy a Robuck home, you’re buying a home that will stand the test of time. We’re building in key locations across these areas that ensures you are buying a quality home in sought-after destinations for homeowners.

That means a Robuck Home will be desirable today. But it’s also going to be a highly valuable home for years to come. That’s why we have so many people coming back to Robuck — sometimes even for a third or fourth home. They know the quality and outstanding customer services that come with the Robuck name.

Buyers get a personalized experience

One of the things homeowners love about the way Robuck Homes builds is the personalization that comes with each home. When they choose to buy a Robuck Home in one of our communities, they get the choices that will make it the home that best suits their needs. From the moment they choose Robuck, they get to select the right homesite, floor plan and personalize it in our state-of-the-art design studio.

As part of our pre-construction process, our buyers finalize their purchase agreement, then schedule their design studio meetings. As part of our pre-construction process, once our buyers finalize their purchase agreement the Builder Team contacts them to explain the first steps in the construction process, which include: scheduling the design studio appointments, review of the floor plan and confirming structural options. During the design studio meetings, they’ll also choose the details that truly personalize a home, like cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, and more. It’s an unforgettable experience for our buyers to create a home that is uniquely their own.

We live by The Robuck Way

There’s a phrase many people know us by, which is “The Robuck Way.” We refer to this as our golden rule and the philosophy of how we function as a North Carolina builder. It’s simple: we believe in doing what’s right, and if it’s not right, then you fix it.

From the start, we’ve always focused on doing the right thing. We treat everyone — our employees, our vendors, and our homeowners — with that same respect. And we build each of our homes as if it’s our own. We will always focus on exceeding our customers’ expectations. It’s evident in all that we do. And it’s why we have so many long-lasting relationships in our business. We are always focused on delivering a product of the highest value. Is it any wonder we’re a premier builder in the Raleigh-Durham and coastal Carolina markets?

Buyers get clear communication from the start

Our goal is to communicate clearly during every phase of a home’s construction. That way, our customers are well-informed and involved throughout the entire process of the build. We have a construction timeline we’ve perfected during our century of homebuilding experience, and it’s one we outline for our homebuyers from the start.

We begin the construction process after the buyer has selected the structural details in their purchase agreement . Once the foundation is laid, framing begins. This includes roof, window, and door installation, as well as roughing in mechanical systems. Prior to insulation, the Pre-drywall Orientation is the second milestone to meet with the builder. Once insulation is complete, we install drywall and finish up with painting, cabinet installation, flooring, and final inspections. Next comes the Homeowner Orientation, which happens prior to closing. During this orientation, we walk homeowners through the home to explain how to care for the home and to review any final details that need to be addressed.

By the day of closing, Robuck has conducted multiple walkthroughs and quality checks to ensure the home is ready for move-in. And during the final orientation, our team walks the soon-to-be homeowners through the home to demonstrate the appliances and systems and address any last-minute items. Buyers know what’s happening every step of the way, including how to care for their home after closing.

Homes meet the highest standards

Robuck always conducts thorough quality checks and inspections throughout the many stages of construction to ensure every home meets our standards. Our goal is always to provide the best living experience for our homeowners, and to ensure these homes stand the test of time.

However, we know things can go wrong, even when our standards are high. That’s why we take pride in our comprehensive warranty program. We provide a one-year limited warranty and a 10-year limited structural warranty for added peace of mind. Plus, we offer a 60-day and 11-month home inspection, ensuring the home remains in pristine condition long after move-in.

We take pride in how we build

There’s a reason Robuck Homes is a top North Carolina builder. It’s because of how much we focus on why we’re here: the people for whom we build.
