Robuck Homes: Creating an incredible customer experience

May 22, 2025

One of the things all of us at Robuck Homes prides ourselves on is our ability to do more than just sell new homes in the Triangle and Coastal North Carolina. “We build places people are proud to live in and share with others,” said Mary Beth Taintor, customer experience manager for Robuck. It’s been that way since 1926, when Robuck’s legacy first began, and it’s remained that way today. We have always committed to blending timeless design with modern, functional living.

But one of the keys Taintor said is how we’re “always putting our homeowners at the center of everything we do.” That’s what sets Robuck apart. And one of the major components of putting customers at the center is the Robuck Homes Red Book.

What to expect from Robuck Homes

Robuck has long been committed to creating an exceptional home, but Taintor said, “We believe the homebuilding journey should be just as exceptional as the home itself.” That’s why we take such great pride in making the experience enjoyable. “We strive to exceed the buyer’s expectations through every stage of the homebuilding process,” she explained.

In fact, there are several tools the Robuck team uses to ensure we exceed expectations. “It’s a combination of consistent communication, a smooth design studio experience, clean jobsites, upholding the construction scheduled, and commitment to the home warranty after closing, just to name a few,” she explained. “The Robuck customer experience is about more than constructing houses — it’s also about building trust, peace of mind, and lasting pride in homeownership.”

Becoming a Robuck Customer

The first moment you connect with Robuck Homes, our team is working to ensure you have the best customer experience possible. Many customers connect with Robuck through our online sales consultant or our on-site sales associate. “Our knowledgeable representatives take the time to understand what matters most to you,” Taintor explained. “From layout and design preferences to lifestyle needs, we tailor the experience to meet the buyer’s needs.  The sales associates explain the building process, key decision deadlines, and what to expect at each stage.”

From there, there are a couple of different options for customers who are considering purchasing a home. Robuck may already have a move-in-ready home available for you to purchase quality. Or you may want to consider a pre-sale purchase where you have more personalization options from the start.

“While the available options may differ between a move-in ready home and a pre-sale purchase, the customer service you can expect from Robuck Homes remains the same,” Taintor said. “Our inventory homes are thoughtfully designed by our design studio consultants to reflect today’s most popular selections and design trends. One of the key benefits of purchasing a move-in ready home is the potential for a quicker move-in timeline, so you can start enjoying your new home sooner.”

When pre-sale is an option

One of the exciting options from Robuck is purchasing a pre-sale home. “Purchasing a pre-sale home allows you to select your homesite, floor plan, and structural options,” Taintor said. “You also meet with a design studio consultant in one of our design studios, where your vision truly comes to life.”

The design studio consultants set up three separate appointments with you to help you personalize your home. “With expert guidance and a curated selection of finishes and materials, we make the personalization process exciting, not overwhelming,” she said. “Our design consultants work within each individual’s budget, offering recommendations based on how buyers envision using each space, not just focusing on upgrades, but on creating a home that truly fits their lifestyle.”

The role of the Robuck Homes Red Book

You’ll start hearing about the Robuck Homes Red Book when you’ve signed your contract with us. And this is where you’ll find clarity, along with the work your full team is doing to keep you in the loop and on track with your home.

“The Red Book is a vital part of a successful customer journey,” Taintor said. “The Red Book outlines what to expect during construction, how to prepare for closing and move-in, warranty guidelines, and information on how to care for your home after moving-in. It’s your home’s personalized guide, packed with helpful information.”

It’s designed to be as clear as possible, not just through the process, but for the length of owning your home. “The Red Book puts all the essential information at your fingertips, providing clear guidance from contract signing through post move-in, so you always know what to expect, every step of the way,” she said.

What we want you to remember

When it’s all said and done, Taintor said there’s something they want to leave with their customers. “We hope that they felt the Robuck Difference,” she said. “That’s not just about building homes, but we did the right thing every step of the way.”

She also said Robuck wants to leave buyers with pride in their home. The goal, she said, is straightforward: “Robuck created a valuable and meaningful experience that our homeowners are proud to share. Customers move in with not only a well-built home, but with a sense of pride in where they live and who built it.”
