Celebrating National Homeownership Month with Robuck Homes

Jun 27, 2025

June is National Homeownership Month. It’s a time to reflect on the American Dream of becoming a homeowner and how to make it more attainable for every American. And it’s a time to celebrate that a house isn’t just about having a roof over your head. It’s also a place where we should all find safety, a foundation for your family, and a sound investment for your future.

We are proud to celebrate National Homeownership Month. Yet, homeownership is also something we celebrate every day.

The history behind the celebration

The history of homeownership dates back to the post-Great Depression era, when the United States government focused on stabilizing the housing market by creating the Home Owners’ Loan Corporation, the Federal Housing Administration, and the Federal National Mortgage Association, which is now known as Fannie Mae.

In 1995, President Bill Clinton created Homeownership Week, which was expanded by President George Bush in 2002. And today, our government is working harder than ever to ensure all Americans can realize their dream of homeownership.

Why it matters

There’s a reason homeownership is considered a major component of the American Dream. The purchase of a home is often seen as a major achievement. It shows that a person worked hard and is providing security and hope for the future. And it’s where life happens. Your home is where you celebrate your major milestones. It’s where you plant roots and create memories.

Beyond that, a home is also something you can take pride in. It’s where you create a space that’s uniquely yours. And it’s a tool where you can build generational wealth. All of these benefits are things to celebrate. Yet all of us at Robuck Homes believe this American Dream is something important enough to strive for every day. That’s why these elements are wrapped into everything we do.

How Robuck fits

Since 1926, Robuck Homes has helped buyers in the Triangle and on the coast of North Carolina realize their dream of homeownership. In other words, our story was building right alongside those in the early days, when the government created solutions that helped people buy homes. Today, we are a fourth-generation, family-owned company that’s done more than build houses. We’ve built homes, communities, trust, and long-lasting relationships.

From our early beginnings as a new builder to today’s modern-day communities and on-trend homes, our mission has always been the same: to create homes with enduring quality, thoughtful designs, and value that lasts for generations. It’s why, from our beginnings, our homes have been a smart investment. Today, we blend nearly a century of local expertise with high-quality craftsmanship, thoughtfully planned communities, and striking curb appeal. Plus, our homes are located in some of North Carolina’s most desirable and appreciating areas. Our commitment to building long-lasting, visually cohesive neighborhoods, ensures your home retains value for years to come.

How we celebrate every day

National Homeownership Month is a reminder that homeownership itself is a personal journey, and that every homeowner has a unique story. It’s also a reminder that it’s something everyone should be able to achieve.

At Robuck Homes, we provide a wide variety of floorplans, price points, and community settings to suit different stages of life. Whether you’re a first-time buyer, growing your family, downsizing, or upgrading into a new dream home, we have something for everyone.

Celebrate your homeownership story

This month, whether you’re a current homeowner, dreaming of your first home, or planning your next move, we invite you to celebrate what home means to you. At Robuck Homes, we’re honored to be part of that journey. And we’re here to help every step of the way.
